Forming creatologists.

If creative capacity is widely distributed and cultivable, education is the primary instrument for forming the creative, capable, humanely-directed person.

A documented record

The applied record is specific and datable. Three creativity courses — Philosophy of the Good Life, Fundamentals of Creativity and Innovation, and Creative Practice: Thinking Tools, Methods and Techniques — were introduced for all first-year students at Quezon City University in school-year 2018–19. A post-graduate Fundamentals course was delivered at the Asian Development Foundation College with formal learning objectives, outcomes, and assessment rubrics.

National trainers' courses were conducted for the Department of Science and Technology's Invent School Program, through the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI), across Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao in 2011; and a 2017 Department of Education seminar-workshop carried the pedagogy into the basic-education system.

What the teaching develops

  • Developmental sequences for the creative-thinking operations appropriate to age and stage.
  • Classroom practices that develop substrate-cognition capacity.
  • Teacher-preparation models that produce educators able to deliver creative-cognition development across the curriculum.
  • Assessment approaches that provide diagnostic feedback rather than ranking.
