The Science

Two origins, one science

Quezon City, 1972. Budapest, 1977. A discipline whose time had come.

Creatology was named and published in Quezon City on 24 October 1972 by Aboganda and Cortez. Five years later — independently, with no known contact — Dr. István Magyári-Beck introduced a "complex creatology" in Budapest, presented in September 1977 and published in 1979.

In the history of science, parallel independent origin is not a complication; it is evidence. When two researchers on opposite sides of the world, in different intellectual traditions, conclude that the study of creativity requires a science of its own — and reach for the same name — the case that such a science was needed makes itself.
